Wedding at Belle Voir Manor

Wedding at Belle Voir Manor . Ah Lexy, Lexy, Lexy ( or sexy Lexy as we hear). When I first met Lexy she immediately let me know photography really wasn’t her thing. She didn’t want an e-session (she called them cheesy! lol) & she just basically wanted someone to cover her wedding. Ok, normally I wouldn’t have booked with someone who doesn’t value photography but Lexy was such a sweetheart I decided I would do the opposite & make her a believer 🙂 . Fast forward to the wedding day. Now Murphy’s law & mother nature took over. 1st my GPS (which is brand new) decided to freeze on “locating satellite” on me . I was headed to Princeton NJ at the time people..yeah… Luckily I had directions printed out as back up. So while Tracey was with the women in PA I was now stuck in slow moving traffic because this tornado rain was blasting away, with no GPS help & I was now late to arrive at Ryan’s parents home. Luckily Ryan is a super cool dude & understood. Ryan’s mom was really into photo’s (yay, lol) so we took some formal shots (since Ryan was already dressed) & then some creative shots. By the way, doesn’t Ryan remind you of those old time movie stars? I then headed back to Belle Voir Manor where Lexy opted to put on her dress & be as beautiful as she can be. After the loveliness we did family formals. When the ceremony was all done the sun peeked out, the rain slowed & we then tried to do more formals & a really quick creative session outside. This is where Murphy showed up again. lol. Going from the air conditioned venue to the super high humidity was trouble. My lens started to fog up. Oh, great. so after a few shots I tried another lens, then another. I finally got some to work minus the fog. Wow. So we head in for the reception &….. we lose power!! Evidently a tree dropped on power lines & we were now without power. Yes, this all really happened. I gotta shout out the DJ’s at Stylez entertainment though as they were all ready to go buy a generator just to make sure the party continued. Who does that? Awesome. But luckily the power came back on & we were ready to party! Now, I’ve seen a lot of 1st dances but none quite like this. They had all 200 or so people get on the dance floor with them. Yes ALL of them (you’ll see) . They then did the traditional 1st dance and from there, it was all about the party. Their were toasts, drinks, splits, more drinks, a guy following me around with a slim jim, more drinks…you get the point. This was a celebration & Lexy & Ryan did it different ( see the cake topper) but did it oh so well. It fit them & that’s all that mattered!
